Hearing Impaired

For hearing-impaired guests, closed-caption is available on in-cabin TVs and assisted-listening devices are available at all theaters and show rooms.

American Sign Language interpretation for live performances on designated cruise dates

Communication Kits that include door-knock and phone alerts, phone amplifier, bed shaker notification, strobe light smoke detector and text typewriter (TTY) are available.

Special Needs Passengers

Guests with disabilities have access to comfortable, functional staterooms and a full range of services on every Disney Cruise Line ship and Disney's private island paradise, Castaway Cay.

A physician and nurse are on call 24 hours a day to provide basic medical services on every cruise. The physician and nurse are employed by a company independent from Disney Cruise Line.

The Walt Disney Company has been an industry leader in wheelchair accessibility throughout its theme parks and resorts, and great enhancements are continually being made to ensure an enjoyable vacation for all Disney guests.

Onboard Safety

Disney Cruise Line ships are designed and constructed with safety in mind:

• The ship is designed for the safety of all passengers, especially small children.

• Plexiglass is installed on all deck railings.

• A physician and nurse are on call 24 hours a day.

• Everyone onboard must participate in a compulsory safety drill before departure to comply with Coast Guard and international safety regulations.

• Transfer tiers at the Quiet Cove Pool 

•Wheelchair accessible restrooms in the shipboard common areas

Accessibility

Pool-Side Lifts

Guests requiring a pool lift can either call the Disney Cruise Line Contact Center, email the Special Services team, or request set-up onboard at Guest Services. Upon boarding the ship, Guest Services will contact the Guest to arrange the time and location for the Guest's pool lift needs

For safety reasons, the pool lifts are removed following each use to avoid other Guests from damaging the lift or possible injury . It is important that the Guest notify a nearby Crew Member and/or Guest Services once they have finished using the pool lift.

Stateroom Accommodations

Wheelchair accessible staterooms are available in a variety of categories. These staterooms are larger in size, the doorsills to the staterooms have been eliminated, and the bathroom thresholds have ramps to provide full access. Other features include bathroom and shower handrails, fold-down shower seats, hand-held shower heads, TDD kits, emergency alarm buttons, and compatibility with Hoyer lifts.

There are 25 staterooms equipped for guest with disabilities in a variety of categories. These staterooms are equipped with the following features:

  • 32" (minimum) doorways
  • Ramped bathroom thresholds
  • Open bed frames
  • Additional phones in the bathroom and on the nightstand
  • Bathroom and shower handrails
  • Fold-down shower seats
  • Hand-held shower heads
  • Lowered towel and closet bars
  • Emergency call buttons
