The Center For Disease Control (CDC) performs unannounced inspections, which are conducted twice a year and required for any cruise ship with an international itinerary calling at a U.S. port. Vessels are evaluated proper food handling, preparation and storage procedures, and overall galley cleanliness. Ships’ potable water supplies used in spas and pools are evaluated, as well.

Wind Star's newest vessel is an all-suite power yacht due in Barcelona in April 2014. The vessel will receive new features and furnishings inside and out before its maiden voyage in May.

The Star Pride is the first vessel in Wind Star's new Star-class of ships. The Star Breeze and Star Legend will join the fleet in 2015.

The Star Pride will sail away to the enchanting music of 1492: Conquest of Paradise.

Accommodations

Passengers are cradled in comfort as all staterooms and suites offer ocean views, sitting area, new LCD flat-screen TV, DVD, CD player, iPod Nanos and Bose SoundDocks systems, safe, mini-bar/refrigerator, international direct-dial phones, bathroom with luxurious pampering toiletries, hair dryer, plush terry cloth robes, and an abundance of closet space. The library on board stocks an array of international newspapers, books and games, as well as a multi-media selection of more than 500 DVD titles and compact discs available for complimentary check-out.

All 106 suites have new furnishings, leather headboards, plush sofas and chairs, drapes, new lighting features, window coverings, plush carpeting, new art work, stylish bed cushions, and luxurious bed throws.

Each suite contains one standard US 110V and European 220V 60-cycle AC electric outlets.

There are 64 Ocean View Suites with four modified accessible suites and 36 Balcony Suites. The two Classic Suites have a forward-facing window and French doors to a private veranda. The four owner's suites includes a sitting area, second bathroom, and a television in the bedroom. The suites showcase different Wind Star destinations.  For example, the Bora Bora Suite will feature paintings showcasing the world-famous Motus, French-Polynesia flair throughout the stateroom.

Dining Venues

The Restaurant

Accommodates all passengers and offers an open seating program.

Veranda/Candles

The restaurant in the aft of the yacht will be an inviting buffet during the day, with plentiful outdoor seating highlighting Veranda’s new look – the perfect spot for breakfast and lunch alfresco. At night the venue will transform to Candles Grill, a favorite Windstar romantic experience where guests can dine with table service under the stars.

Pool Deck

Continental breakfast and afternoon tea. A unique Deck Barbecue gala will take place one night per voyage on the pool deck. The 5-star buffet offers an array of dishes including an Asian-style suckling pig served with apple sauce. The executive chef grills basted lobster tail; jerk marinated chicken drumsticks and the fresh catch of the day. In addition, seafood paella is cooked right on deck.

Open Bridge

Star Pride’s Captain and officers welcome you on Bridge while the yacht is at sea. You can chat with the officers on watch, view the navigational chart, and enjoy some of the best views on the yacht.

Water Sports Platform

The platform offers a variety of complimentary water toys such as water skis, wakeboards, kayaks, paddleboards, and sailboats. You can also enjoy the freedom of your own private yacht by swimming to and from the platform.
