Traveling with small children

Children over six (6) months of age at the date of sailing will be accepted on the following itineraries: Alaska, Canada & New England, Caribbean, Europe, Mexico, Trans-canal and Australia & New Zealand (coastal cruise only). Only children over the age of one (1) year at the date of sailing will be accepted for the following itineraries: Africa, South America, South Pacific, Hawaii, Tahiti, world cruises including Asia, Antarctica, Indian subcontinent, Transatlantic and Transpacific cruises.

TV Programming

TV programs appropriate for children, including cartoons, movies and award-winning programs may be shown on the in-stateroom television during the early morning hours, midday and early evening. Youth and Teen Centers are also equipped with giant screen TVs for late-night movie gatherings, featuring the latest kids & teen films.

Kids Dining

As part of the Princess Kids program, Junior cruisers will also be able to participate in two special dinner evenings designed for each age group. Younger passengers will enjoy dinner without parents and in the company of newfound friends and counselors in one of their ship's many eateries. For teens, one of the two evenings will feature a special evening get-together in one of the main dining rooms, complete with group photograph and a night out to enjoy Princess' many evening offerings.

Princess Kid's Programs

Youth and Teens

Junior cruisers ages 3 to 17 can enjoy a boatload of exciting onboard activities. Our dedicated youth centers are staffed by trained counselors, who are ready to ensure our young sailors stay happy all day long. On all Vessels except Tahitian and Pacific Princess you'll find completely equipped Youth & Teen Centers. There's everything from arts and crafts corners, games tables, movies, and splash pool area.
Princess operates youth programs on Tahitian or Pacific Princess, when 20 or more children ages 3 to 17, are traveling on a given voyage. Children under the age of 3 are allowed to visit the Youth Center, if accompanied and supervised by a parent at all times.

Port Day Activities
Youth and Teen Centers are open while in port from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A supervised complimentary lunch service is available with parental consent.

Fun Zone

Junior cruisers ages 3 to 12 can enjoy a boatload of exciting onboard activities. Princess Fun Zone Activities are divided into two age groups:

Princess Pelicans (ages 3-7)
"Shockwaves (ages 8-12)

On all Vessels except Tahitian and Pacific Princess you'll find completely equipped Youth Centers. The Princess Pelicans and Shockwaves programs offer activities such as:

Kid-Sitting

Group kid sitting for children ages 3 to 12 years is offered on all vessels except Royal, Tahitian and Pacific Princess, from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. for a charge of $5.00 per hour per child.

Educational Programs

Scheduled on select seasonal sailings, the California Science Center will deliver entertaining interactive science activities for children aboard Princess ships. Whale watching, coral reef studies, building and racing sailboats, marine biology studies, chemistry experiments, and squid dissection are just some of the new activities that may be offered.

Pete's Pals Program, as a way for Princess kids to learn more about threatened and endangered species in the areas in which Princess sails. Each year Princess will issue a limited edition plush animal depicting a species in danger for all children participating in this program.

For Alaska cruises, Princess offers a National Park Service Junior Ranger Program that teaches kids about glaciers, endangered wildlife & other animals native to the region. Park Rangers provide special presentations and activities for kids & teens, giving them an opportunity to earn a Jr. Ranger badge.

Teen Center

Teen Centers are packed with Playstation® 2, the latest movies & music, Karaoke, giant screen TVs, card games, board games, ping pong tables and juke boxes.

On the Grand Princess and Golden Princess, teens have a separate Jacuzzi and sun deck area made just for them. Teen-age passengers have a wide range of activities to choose from: teens-only dance parties, the Dating Game, T-shirt painting, sports tournaments, Karaoke and talent shows, Casino night, pizza parties, mocktails, hip hop dance classes, and teen dinners.

Please note that the Pacific and Tahitian Princess do not have dedicated Teen Centers.

For passengers under 21 years of age or those who are traveling with children, please note: Entry into the disco after 11 p.m. is limited to passengers 18 and over. Be sure to check with the Youth and Teen Centers for special disco events designed for kids and teens. Children accompanied by a parent or guardian are permitted in the hot tub(s) unless otherwise specified.

Passengers under the age of 18 are allowed in the evening entertainment show lounges if they are with their parent or guardian.  In line with domestic U.S. age limits, as well as company policy, the casino, cash prize bingo and horse racing are reserved for passengers 21 years and older. Additionally, only those passengers 21 years and older will be allowed to purchase or consume alcohol. Picture identification may be requested.
